Built in 1878 by a local manufacturer for his wife, the majestic, turreted Ardoe House is designed in the Scottish Baronial style favoured by Queen Victoria for Balmoral Castle. A new fully equipped leisure centre is opening in January 2000 comprising of an 18m x 8m swimming pool sauna, steam room, state of the art techno gym and trimnasium,aerobics studio,blitz room and four health and beauty treatment rooms.
