Duddingston is situated on the east side of Edinburgh with the ancient volcanic plug of Arthur's Seat as the backdrop. The original course which dated back to the late 1800's was extended in the 1960's and 70's by John Shade and Bill Biggar.
Duddingston is a course held in high regard with its fairways and green maintained to a very high level. The series of demanding par 4's from the 11th to the 13th is a memorable if not terrifying experience. The 11th hole is probably the toughest on the card where 2 good shots are needed to reach the green that always is at least one club further than it seems- so be warned.
