Ghost Walks in Edinburgh

Edinburgh has had more than its share of gruesome murders including the infamous pair of cadaver snatchers- Burke and Hare. The old town of Edinburgh in particular is still full of dark alleys and passage ways which create a sense of foreboding as the guide recounts those sordid tales of the past. The tour will revisit scenes of murders deaths and heinous crimes. Journey through the Wynds and Closes of the Royal Mile before entering our Haunted Underground Let historical and ghost stories unfold in surroundings dating to the 1700's. A visit to our torture exhibits also included. Expect to be unnerved.

This ghostly walking tour will certainly make getting married a walk in the park! Hear about the ghastly tales of torture and pain (Great ideas for the honeymoon). Based around the bizarre history of Edinburgh with body snatchers and much more goings on these stories will remind you that Edinburgh was the ultimate choice for your last night of freedom. The walks generally start when it gets dark but be warned it is scary. There are options for private tours or maybe keep with the other groups as safety in numbers and all that. Just make sure that you arrive 5 minutes before your tour is due to start

This is a great early evening event for any group of friends.

Expect the tour to last about 75 mins

Very informative guide and the bridge vaults are worth a visit. It is a tour to take but not at the expense of missing some of the other main sights in Edinburgh if you are pressed for time. The torture room at the end is very interesting. The descriptions of how horrible life must have been for the inhabitants of the underground sure make you glad you are living in this century."Jim H
