Cairngorm Mountain
The Ptarmigan Restaurant, situated at 1097 metres (3600feet) above sea
level, is the highest restaurant in Scotland, nestling just under the
summit of Cairn Gorm, the 5th highest mountain in Scotland. This panoramic
Venue can accommodate receptions for up to 250 guests, or dinners for
up to 140. As you would expect, the views are incredible - a stunning
vista across Strathspey and beyond. The Ptarmigan is accessed uniquely
by the CairnGorm Mountain Railway. The 1.8 kilometre journey takes around
8 minutes and carries up to 48 passengers at a time in comfort and safety
up the mountain?s rugged slopes. On arrival, enjoy a welcome drink in
the interactive Mountain Exhibition or admire the views from the Ptarmigan
bar and viewing terrace. As the sun starts to set spectacularly over
the surrounding mountains, sit back, relax and enjoy the best of traditional
local Highland produce prepared to an exceptionally high standard.
