Gunsgreen House was built in the 1750s by John Adam, one of the most famous and most expensive architects of the day. Located overlooking Eyemouth Harbour it is surely the most dramatic and romantic of Georgian houses.
Home to a series of smugglers, the house has had a chequered history but is now restored by the Gunsgreen house trust. Open to visitors, it is an example of impeccable and loving restoration.
