There are many festivals throughout the year including Scottish nights, classic car rallies, historic walks, a medieval fayre, a jazz festival and a spectacular tattoo. Kirkcudbright sits on the edge of the Galloway Hills and on the estuary of the River Dee and offers many outdoor pursuits including fishing, horse riding in Galloway Forest Park, cycling and golf. Threave Garden and Estate is owned by the National Trust and proves to be a popular visitors’ attraction.
