The house is bright and warm and the many personal touches and comprehensive tourist information make it particularly welcoming for visitors. Dornoch is renowned for championship links golf courses, miles of golden sands, an ancient cathedral, quaint shops and pubs. Within an easy drive are wildlife and bird reserves, picturesque old fishing villages and the vast unspoiled wilderness areas of the Sutherland moors. All around are coastal and country walks and excellent angling. Day trips can be enjoyed to explore Inverness, the rugged scenery of Wester Ross, remote and spectacular Cape Wrath and the ferry terminals for Orkney and the Outer Hebrides.
