Nethy Bridge is 2 miles, Grantown-on-Spey 3 miles and Aviemore and Inverness are a short drive. The surrounding area has a wealth of wildlife and for ornithologists there are RSPB reserves nearby. Within easy reach are the Highland Wildlife Park, the unique outdoor Highland Folk Museum, the Speyside Whisky Trail, the Cairngorm Mountain funicular railway and a lovely old steam railway.
