These three adjoining holiday properties (refs SMMC, SMMD and UVO) are set in beautiful, landscaped grounds with spectacular views across the Sound of Sleat to Skye and are only 500 yards away from the shoreline and village of Balmacara. The properties are ideally placed for exploring some of the most dramatic scenery in the West Highlands and visitors can enjoy private fishing on hill lochs during their stay. Minutes away by car is the enigmatic Isle of Skye dominated by the Cuillins, Eilean Donan Castle, the pretty village of Plockton and the Five Sisters of Kintail. The breathtaking drive across the ‘Pass of the Cattle’ leads to the village of Applecross, recently featured in Monty Hall’s Great Escape on BBC television. Experience wildlife safaris such as marine life, sea/loch fishing, water sports and magnificent mountains for hill walking, climbing and biking. A network of National Trust paths, signposted from the grounds of Sgurr Mor, affords views of the surrounding area. Shop and pub 500 yards and excellent restaurants in and around Plockton.

Customer Reviews of Loch Alsh Cottage, Kyle of Lochalsh, Sleeps 4

st comment: Absolutely wonderful location; the views are outstanding. Aug 2011.

nd comment: I cant quite grasp why otherwise excellent accommodation would not have a non stick frying pan or a modern TV. We cant recommend the Balmacarra Hotel for food but there is great food closeby at Plockton. June 2011.

rd comment: Excellent location and extremely comfortable accommodation. Wonderful area to visit with amazing scenery. June 2011.

th comment: Vary spacious, owner was helpfully and gave plenty of advice on where to eat. Would recommend this for a relaxing getaway. March 2011.

th comment: Everything: location, peace, room, views. Oct 2010.

th comment: Extremely spacious, fabulous views, warm even in Winter. Good location for touring. Oct 2010.

th comment: This cottage was excellent. Interior of good standard providing plenty of space. Beds comfortable and its location afforded panoramic views across the loch to the Isle of Skye..... May 2010.

th comment: Very well furnished, comfortable, large rooms, excellent situation, beautiful views, looked even better than in brochure. April 2010.

th comment: The location is excellent as a centre, allowing easy access to wonderful places such as Skye, Glenelg, Applecross. The immediate surrounding area, that is in a ten mile radius, has plenty to interest walkers and fishermen. May 2009.

th comment: We have used your services on a number of occasions properties have always been excellent but this one was by far and away the best. The owner was very helpful and friendly could certainly recommend this property. May 2009.

th Comment Great location - easy access by road to other areas including Skye, local walks from the cottage and fantastic views from the sitting room, bedroom, & patio garden. June 2009.

th Comment Guest book was especially useful for knowing where to go and what to do (or avoid). Nice touch of bottle of wine on arrival. July 2008.

th Comment We had a fabulous holiday here. A month would not have been nearly long enough! The views are stunning, the cottage is first class, the hospitality and welcoming is fantastic and you are well placed to visit all local attractions. We have travelled to this area several times and this was by far our best holiday to date. Many thanks! Sept 2008.

th Comment An excellent base for walking in Glen Shiel, Glen Carron and on Skye. Plenty to do on ’days off’ too. May 2008.

th Comment A very comfortable cottage with wonderful views. The open fire wasn’t laid as promised in the write-up. Also we were apparently the first visitors of the season and it would have been nice if the central heating had been put on before we arrived rather than when we were there as the cottage was a bit chilly. April 2008.

th Comment It was the best holiday I’ve had in a long time. Dec 2008.

th Comment Our holiday exceeded all expectations from wonderful weather and scenery to the wonderful hospitality and friendliness of our hostess and the local folk. I will certainly use your services again and return to our particular cottage where it was a home from home! April 2007.
