Customer Reviews of Manse Cottage, Edinburgh, sleeps 4

st comment: Excellent base for exploration of area. The cottage is tucked away just off a main high street which has local shops chemists, pubs and restaurants. Parking is a problem as the street is one way and has parking restrictions and is very busy so if you want to park directly outside forget it. Having said that we parked at the bottom of the street and quickly learnt that a car was unnecessary. The bus service is excellent and buses into town caught from across the road on the high street arrives every few minutes and takes you to the heart of Edinburgh in 20 minutes. Going the other way the Gayle centre has modern shopping complex and a Morrissons 10 minutes away. You can get a day ticket for £3.50 allowing you freedom of all local buses. We travelled for the zoo on a weekend break and this is an excellent venue and you dont even need a bus as you can walk it to the right in 10 minutes. March 2012.

nd comment: This a beautiful house with a very homely feel to it, the bed was so comfy we wanted to take it home, very well situated to local shops and buses into Edinburgh, also a nice pub just around the corner, all the locals were friendly and a nice park for the doggie, we will definitely be back. Feb 2012.

rd comment: Public transport to and from the city centre is nearby, and is excellent & frequent. June 2011.

th comment: Location ideal for either visit to Edinburgh or touring, shops, pubs etc very convenient, parked the car on Saturday, did not move it until time to pack to go home. Bus service into Edinburgh excellent. Strong possibility of returning to the same property in the future. Feb 2011.

th comment: The cottage is a roomy little house, delicate and cute, providing the tourist with almost everything: from blow-dryer to pans and pots. Everything was sparkling clean and ready for us when we got there. I particularly loved the house warming gift left for us and the tea and coffee thoughtfully arranged for our arrival. Jan 2011.

th comment: Location had easy access via both public and personal transport to our friends, family and locations within the city and wider region. The cottage was warm, comfortable and well equipped with a nice touch of wine and shortbread to welcome us to Edinburgh. Oct 2010.

th comment: Close to good shops and 1st class bus service to city centre at cheap fares. Oct 2010.

th comment: This is a lovely self contained cottage. Clean, comfortable and lovely personal touches such as really nice linen, towels, everything you would need in a kitchen. Even though we don’t have dogs, the property was suitable for dogs (lock up backyard) and there were even drinking bowls provided (very thoughtful). I would just highly recommend the property to anyone who is after a conveniently located, sweet little traditional cottage. Sept 2010.

th comment: Well equipped and comfortable. Sept 2010.

th comment: The property was comfortable and clean. Everything needed was there, like being at home. Very frequent bus service into Princess Street nearby. A Chinese takeway opposite cottage! Garden good for dog and park round the corner. July 2010.

th Comment It was tucked away behind a hedge that hid the property from the road mostly. It looks deceptively small and is very cosy with the living rooms at the back. The kitchen is neat and tidy with all you need and very warm. But there is plenty of room for a family of four and a dog. A large sitting room with two sofas leads to the open spacious dining area looking out onto a courtyard. A small garden to the side from the kitchen is useful to let the dog out but across the road from the house is a lovely park srea where you can excercise your dog. The village is old and historic and well worth a wander. May 2010.

th Comment Very easy access for Edinburgh and train station. Local amenities. March 2010.
