Nearby is Arduaine National Trust Gardens and a short drive away in Ardern is a village store, pub and seafood cafe. In the surrounding area, Kilmartin Glen is steeped in history and rich in archaeological and historical remains. Oban offers a more extensive range of services, with good shopping, a leisure centre, seafood restaurants and ferries to the Inner Hebrides including Mull, Iona, Staffa and Tiree. A day and night telescope adds a thrill to star gazing and wildlife-watching highlights include sea eagles, golden eagles and puffins, while otters, seals and deer can be seen along the shore.
