Lag Kilmichael is a 4 acre steading beautifully situated in Carradale Glen. Within this lovely peaceful setting there are ducks on the pond, river walks, outside seating areas and areas for children to play bordered by streams - rope swings hang over the burn where children can dam and divert the shallow water. Fishermen can cast a line into Carradale Water at the end of the drive. Sea Trout, Brown Trout and Salmon are all landed regularly from the area's rivers and lochs. There are many varied walks from here, along the river, up onto the hills, along the forestry trails and around the coastal paths. There are several golf courses within easy reach, the closest just 5 minutes away at Carradale. Day trips by ferry to Gigha, Islay and Arran make an unusual and relaxing day out. Friendly shops, pubs and restaurants are found 2 miles away at Carradale; a small fishing village where fish, prawns and scallops are landed at the harbour. Kintyre is a unique peninsula with outstanding and dramatic scenery, heather clad hills, sandy and rocky beaches and a climate warmed by the Gulf Stream.
The three delightful holiday cottages offer self-contained, flexible accommodation for couples and families.Each cottage has its own particular character and all are freshly decorated and comfortably furnished with many thoughtful, personal touches. The cottages enjoy stunning open views down Carradale Glen, all are single storey and are warm and cosy with log fires. Payphone, extra freezer and laundry/drying facilities on site. Lag Kilmichael has a private water supply.
A romantic hideaway, perfect for couples, this converted stone byre has a cosy intimate atmosphere complemented by wood panelled walls, beamed ceilings and the large fireplace with log fire. The cottage has many unusual features and the charming comfortable interior will ensure a very memorable holiday.
Open plan layout with sitting area around open fire, this extends to sleeping area with traditional double bed (from which to view the log fire!), fully equipped kitchen with dining corner adjacent, separate bathroom with shower over bath. All electric plus open fire. Fridge/ freezer, microwave, satellite television, video, hi-fi. All bed linen, kitchen linen, bath and hand towels are provided. Cot and high-chair available.
