This typical Scottish farmhouse sits in a spectacular location at the head of a beautiful glen, deep in the mountains of the Trossachs on the renowned 'Braes of Balquihidder'. Freshly decorated and comfortably furnished in a simple, unpretentious style, this would be the perfect base for an outdoor activity holiday. With double glazing and an open log fire it is ideal for a relaxing break away from it all, at any time of the year. The owners working sheep farm is nearby and there is a lovely atmosphere of tranquility and remoteness. Local hero Rob Roy McGregor lived most of his life in the original house on this site in the early 18th Century. His grave can be visited in the local churchyard.
With 7 Munros within easy reach, this is good country for walking, climbing or mountain biking, there is sailing and water sports 10 miles away at Loch Earn and river/loch fishing are available locally. The final 8 miles to the house are on a scenic but narrow single track road which winds up the glen past Lochs Voil and Doine. Hotel 4 miles, shops 10 miles.
1 double and 2 twin bedrooms (cot and high chair available); living room with open fire, dining area in large bright, fitted kitchen, bathroom with shower over bath. All electric with night storage heating and panel heaters in all bedrooms plus open fire. Fridge, microwave, television. Bed linen and towels are provided.
