Manna (formerly Papingo) in Bath Street is one of the newest arrivals on the Glasgow restaurant scene and already has cause to celebrate as both AA Rosette and Michelin Guide status have been awarded in the 6 months since opening.
After successfully trading as Papingo for 17 years, Alan Tomkins continues to own and run the restaurant and hopes customers old and new enjoy the new sumptuous surroundings and updated menu.
The focus is on top quality Scottish beef which is sourced exclusively from the Buccleuch Estate where all the meat is hung for a minimum of 21 days to ensure an intense natural flavour.
In addition to the wide choice of beef, Manna offers a mouth-watering selection of other choices such as roast rack of lamb with creamed leeks, crushed potatoes and garlic gravy; mustard coated fillet of pork with savoy cabbage & stewed apple or crisp fried fillets of seabass on prawn, sunblush tomato and goats cheese salad followed by desserts; warm lemon and almond pudding with raspberries; vanilla pannacotta with poached peaches or iced pear parfait with amarena cherries.
Manna offers daily lunch, pre-theatre and a la carte menus with seasonal, daily specials supplementing the selection. Look out for special fixed price lunch and dinner offers.
