Biker and Cyclist Friendly
Bikers are welcome at the Sutherland Arms Hotel - whether you decide to pop in for lunch on your way north to John O’Groats or need a bedroom for the night, we are delighted to serve you.
Motorbikes and cycles can be kept over night in secure “rear yard” parking. Use of our hose is available should you need to clean down your bike ready for your next adventure.
Drying space is available for those truly Scottish weather days! Hairdryers and irons and ironing boards are provided on request. Pre-order packed lunches are available for your onward trip.
For the Motorcyclist - The North East of Scotland offers some of the best roads in the country with twists and turns and outstanding natural beauty.
For the Cyclist - Golspie offers a terrain ideal for mountain biking. The Ben Bhraggie Hill has expertly designed trails which range with experience.
The Sutherland Arms Hotel is an excellent base from which to explore.
Walker Friendly
The location of the Sutherland Arms Hotel is superb for the occasional walkers to more experienced hikers.
The Big Burn waterfall track is located 10 metres from the hotel and is an excellent example of one of Scotland’s most natural scenes. The Ben Bhraggie Hill with its statue of the Duke of Sutherland at the summit, is also a short walk from the hotel. The routes are clearly marked and the view from the top over the North Sea and Sutherland are superb and cannot be missed.
Protective clothing and boots can be dried out for you. We also have an extensive range of maps and routes for all strengths of walker to follow.
