Description  :The last survivor of nine distilleries which once operated around Glen Ord, the distillery was licensed in 1838. It was acquired by John Dewar in 1923, and extended from two to six stills in 1966. Glen Ord is owned by United Distillers and Vintners, and licensed to them. The water for the distillery comes from the OWhite Burn' flowing from Loch nan Eun and Loch nam Bonnach, and the 12-Year-Old Malt has a full-bodied, slightly dry flavour. The tour and exhibition show the history of the Black Isle and the main processes of distilling. A free dram is part of the adult admission charge, which also includes a discount voucher redeemable in the distillery shop towards the purchase of a 70cl bottle of malt whisky.
