Description  :Tomintoul (pronounced 'Tom-in-towel') Distillery was founded in 1964-5, and was built by Tomintoul Distillery Ltd, but in 1990 was sold to American Brands Inc. There are four stills and the distillery uses water from the Ballantruan Spring. Tomintoul produces light, smooth and slightly sweetish malt whisky. The distillery can be visited, but by appointment only.
