These apartments have been beautifully renovated to a high standard and make a lovely, very clean (and I'm a bit of a clean freak!) base to stay in. Rooms are large and all the facilities you require are there. The Entrance hall is beautiful and the living room has wonderful cornicing and good quality furnishings. Private parking is also a bonus in Glasgow as parking can be a bit of a nightmare. I will almost certainly stay there again the next time I visit Glasgow.

Everything at the Glasgow Lofts was perfect, from the prompt response to our booking enquiry, to special handling of our luggage and the suite had all the amenities of a home away from home. We stayed at the Menzies Glasgow at the beginning and end of our trip to Scotland on the May Bank Holiday weekend. The hotel was clean, modern and rooms very comfortable. We arrived late on the first night and received an upgrade to a superior room - very nice! The standard rooms are good too as we stayed in one on the last night, but once spoilt by the superior room it felt a bit small. The gym, pool and spa facilities were great. I sat by the pool reading a book for a few hours one afternoon to relax. We treated ourselves to a massage at the Spa housed in the hotel. I had a Hydro-massage - something different and worth a try. Breakfast was great, freshly cooked buffet style. There is a bar downstairs for a pre-dinner drink which is also quite nice. I'd definitely stay at the Menzies again when we visit Glasgow.

We went here for a meal, and a look round when we were considering venues for our wedding and were extremely impressed. So much so that we booked it for our wedding, and cannot praise the place enough. The staff were great, very professional and genuinely helpful (special thanks in particular to Fraser who was our Master of Ceremonies). Nothing was too much of a bother. The food was excellent, many of the guests said it was the best food that they had tasted at a wedding. Often, at large functions the quality of the food can be sacrificed a little - but here that was definitely not the case. We had quite a lot of family, and a few couples staying over. They thought the accommodation was lovely - many of them had the small cottages mentioned in one of the other reviews. We had the honeymoon suite of course which was also lovely. I am looking forward to going back there to stay on our first anniversary!!

This Victorian brick building in the buzzing city centre features a modern hotel with high standard facilities for the guest. The hotel strictly follows quality and value to the guest, but it seems opposite. Sadly the hotel does not follow there motto, the hotel gives an old and un-kept look making stay somewhat a compromise.
Accommodation
There are 222 spacious rooms with en-suite bathrooms, rooms gives a worn out feel and seems lacking in cleanliness. They hold TV, internet hookups and telephone, the food served in the restaurant has a variety but not that good. For business meeting the hotel offers 17 conference rooms which can accommodate six hundred people. Still the rooms don’t give any hint of refurbishment and necessarily needs an upliftment so that it becomes more comfy and attractive.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Room small, stuffy, wasn’t cleaned properly i.e floor was sticky and dust on TV, also the TV reception was awful. Breakfast room so uncomfortably warm with a "warden like" women sitting at the door behind a desk watching everyone. The waiting staff asked for our room key and made us feel like we shouldn’t be here. We were made to wait in the sitting area outside the breakfast room for half hour before we could get seated and this was mid week, what would it be like at the weekend. We picked the hotel as the internet site made it appear historically interesting but with a modern twist..... No its just awful. I will not be staying here again

The rooms also have TV and proper toiletries, guest also have a pleasant stay here with the beautiful view of river Clyde. There are also single rooms with nice furnishings and beds giving a dormitory feel.

Great Hostel, good security, clean bathrooms and bedrooms, breakfast not bad. The bar downstairs is fun at happy hour, one tip, there is a guy who is a local that drinks in the bar and picks up travelers, he is ALWAYS there, called tom, anyway, a few mates of mine stayed at the euro and were telling me about him, whom I already knew, quite funny now that 3 different people I know have all given him a random kiss on different occasions because he always sits down there waiting for his next victim. But overall, a very good hostel.

Absolutely filthy, grubby dank, dismal building I have ever had the misfortune to visit. The picture on the web is not the same hotel so don't be fooled. I understand for £45 you are not getting the Hilton but surely you can expect basic cleanliness and amenities. Under no circumstances would I ever stay or recommend this nightmare to anyone and am seriously considering contacting Glasgow Trading Standards because this dump brings down the good name of the city.

This is our definition for a bed and breakfast: a private home that offers a bed for the night and breakfast in the morning at one cost. This is offered to "transient" visitors and has less than 10 bedrooms.
Bed & breakfast accommodation can vary between the absolutely excellent to the mediocre and pretty dire. Many people swear by B&Bs as it offers the opportunity to meet local people, get local advice about Aberdeen over the breakfast table and a price which is usually lower than hotels or guesthouse accommodation in Aberdeen.
