Our listing of Highland Games in Scotland in 2014. Not a definitive list but as many as we have been contacted about. Gourock Highland Games

Gourock Highland Games has developed a successful programme of traditional events such as the Gourock Pipe Band Championship, West of Scotland Highland Dance Championship, heavy events and tug of war.

Bathgate & West Lothian Highland Games

West Lothian Highland Games are thrilled to announce that we have secured the prestigious British Pipe Band Championships for West Lothian.  The British Championships will be hosted in Bathgate for a three week period starting in 2014, some 24 years after they were last held in Bathgate.

Carmunnock highland games

The Carmunnock International Highland Games in the beautiful setting of Glasgow's last remaining conservation village brings alive the glorious tradition of Scottish athleticism and sportsmanship with a range of Highland games and activities for every age groups and tastes.

Markinch Highland Games

Traditional day out featuring highland dancing, pipe band contest, solo piping, heavy events, running, cycling and drum major contest.

Cornhill Highland Games

Cornhill Highland Games will be held in Cornhill Playing Field, Cornhill, Aberdeenshire always on the 1st Saturday of June.

Helensburgh & Lomond Highland Games

Helensburgh & Lomond Highland Games will be held on Saturday 7th June 2014 at the rugby playing fields at Helensburgh in Argyll,  close to the bonny banks of Loch Lomond and the shores of the Gareloch.

Shotts Highland Games

The main highlight of the Shotts Highland Games is the Chieftain's Parade led by pipe bands marches through the streets of Shotts, arriving at the Hannah Park at for the official opening. Gates open at 9am.

Ardrossan Highland Games

The first Ardrossan Highland Games took place in June 1979 and have taken place almost every year since on the  Second Sunday in June.

Cupar Highland Games

Traditional Highland Games with many interesting events like athletics, heavy events, dancing, cycling, children's activities and a pipe band competition. Duffus Park, Cupar.

Bearsden & Milngavie Highland Games

Traditional Highland Games with pipe bands, tug o' war, athletics, heavy weights, children's activities and Highland dancing. Burnbrae, Milngavie.

Aberdeen's highland games

Now into its 54th year, Aberdeen's Highland Games are an integral part of the Grampian Games circuit and delivered under the auspices of the Scottish Highland Games Association. The event opening times are 10.00am to 5.30p.m.

The Royal Highland Show

The biggest event in the agricultural calendar with an array of unique Scottish produce to buy.

Tomintoul Highland Games

This traditional Highland Games will be held in the Public Park, Tomintoul on 19th July 2014. The event will feature some of teh most popular highland games such as  Running, Heavy Weights, Solo Piping, Light Field and Highland Dance among many others. All competitors need to pay an entry fee.

Newburgh Highland Games

Scottish 4800 Cycle Championship, Trade Stalls, Children's Stalls, Food Stall's & Refreshment Tent.

Old Meldrum Highland Games

Dating back to 1930, Oldmeldrum Sports were started by a committee of 6 local working men who pooled in a part of a week's wages to raise money to provide a Cocoa Fund for the children of Oldmeldrum.

 

Lesmahagow Highland Games

The Highland games will have various attarctions such as  RSPBA Pipe Band Competition,Heavy Events,Highland Dancing Display,Athletics, Slide shows and more. Ample fun and entertainmnet for all age groups. Free entry

Oldmeldrum Sports & Highland Games

Oldmeldrum Sports was started way back in 1930, when a committee of 6 local working men decided part with a week's wages to raise money to provide a Cocoa Fund for the children of Oldmeldrum.

Lorne Highland Games

The Lorne highland games has all the favourite elements of a good Scottish Highland Games including caber tossing and hammer throwing among others. The spectators will also have a chance to take part in the track and field events or just relax and enjoy the Highland Dancing Competition or Pipe Band Display

Ceres Highland Games and Races

Ceres Games are the oldest free games in Scotland.Heavyweight Events, Track & Field, Scottish Backhold Wrestling, Solo Piping, Highland Dancing, Pipe Band, Local Races, Fun Fair, Side Stalls and Beer Tent etc

Kenmore Highland Games

Held annually on the first Wednesday evening in July, Kenmore Highland Games is an evening Highland Games held in a unique and beautiful setting, from 5.30pm in the Recreation Park.

 

Kenmore Highland Games

Highland games bside the village overlooking Loch Tay. Charming and a very local, unfussy affair. Runs in the afternoon and early evening.

Gairloch Highland Gathering

Enjoy a traditional day out with lots of games, highland dancers, pipe band, hill race, bungee run, splat the rat, pony show, farrier display, BBQ, home baking and many more!

Thornton Highland Gathering
