Orkney Farmers Market

Most northerly farmers market in the world probably! Held last Saturday of every month Jan-November and also 2nd Saturday of the month in May, June, July & December

StANZA

The only regular festival dedicated to poetry in Scotland, StAnza is international in outlook and now widely recognised as a major poetry festival in the UK and in Europe.

Ayrshire Music Festival

The 89th Ayrshire Music Festival will take place from 10th to 21st  March 2014. It aims to represent the range of performing arts locally, to raise the quality of performance and to create the performers and informed audiences of the future.

Glasgow International Comedy Festival

Hear the echo of laughter at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival by International and home grown comedians. Featuring some of the best comedians in action, theatre, film, workshops and kids shows. Started in  2003 it can come a long way to become the largest event of its kind in Europe, with nearly 105,000 tickets available for 411 shows at 46 venues during the last event.

St Abbs Market

Local produce, crafts and gift market with local artwork, gifts and food. Every Friday from 25th March - 16th December

Aye Write

Aye Write, Glasgow's book festival  to be held from 10th to 20th March is one of the leading literary festivals in the UK.

Aberdeen Jazz Festival

Aberdeen Jazz festival will feature over 30 bands that will perform at free and ticketed events across the city. Topping the bill are Ruby Turner, the soul sensation voice of Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra; Mud Morganfield, eldest son of legendary bluesman, Muddy Waters; and the powerhouse saxophonist, Courtney Pine.

Arran GeoFest

Two days of activities on Arran to explain landscape, diversity and ecology for the families with hands on and education very much part of the mix!
