This traditional Viking festival in the Shetland Isles is a thrilling celebration of the isles’ rich Norse heritage.

A traditional Viking festival in the Shetland that celebrates the isles’ rich Norse heritage. A spectacular time to visit Shetland the highlight is the torch-lit procession that culminates in the burning of a replica Viking long ship or galley. The isles really come alive at this time of year and there is entertainment throughout the night with Guizer Jarl at the head of the Jarl Squad, the dramatic Vikings for the day. The party tends to build up in the days before the big night and ripples on afterwards too.
