Great country for walking or biking: and lots of variety - beach, moor, loch and glen. A light, airy and private flat for two is available to rent within the cottage. Your own entrance to the large living/dining-room with kitchenette, log-burning stove and TV/DVD. Double bedroom (with french windows to garden) and modern bathroom complete the flat. Great views from both bedroom and living-room. WiFi broadband and phone. Sleeps 2 max. Weekly bookings only in high season. Short breaks also available in off-peak months.
From Genoch you can walk to Straiton, a pretty conservation village with pub, shop, cafe and a well-signed footpath network, which will take you to forest, moor, and the picturesque Blairquhan Castle estate. It is an easy journey to explore the hills, the Loch Doon Forest Drive, or Glentrool, with its visitor centre, walks, and a path up Merrick, highest mountain in the Scottish lowlands. In the other direction, a short drive brings you to the sea, beautiful views of Arran, Turnberry golf course, and the National Trust's top visitor attraction in Scotland, Culzean Castle, a masterpiece by Robert Adam in a lovely setting with beaches, deerpark and gardens
