This is a fantastic location for a holiday with award winning sandy beaches, world class golf courses, full range of water sports, beautiful coastal walks and many other holiday activities close by. There are numerous pubs and eating places in the area, ranging from the famous "Anster Chippie" to award winning seafood restaurants. The historic town of St Andrews is only 15 minutes away.
This part of Fife is also ideal for exploring further afield. It is only an hour's drive to Edinburgh, Stirling and Perth. The area is rich in historical interest with several National Trust properties in the vicinity, including Falkland Palace, Culross, Kellie Castle and the Hill of Tarvit. Gorgeous sandy beaches are close by as well of course as the best choice of golf courses Scotland has to offer!
Salt Herrings Cottage sleeps 4 and has two bedrooms on the ground floor, one twin and one double. The double bedroom benefits from a luxury en suite with slipper bath. There is a separate bathroom with luxury shower adjacent to the twin bedroom. Both bedrooms have fantastic sea views. There is a separate utility room on this level with washing machine and freezer. Heating and electricity are included in the rental price plus an initial supply of logs for the stove. All bed linen is provided. Private garage.
There is a splendid wooden staircase leading up to a stunning open plan kitchen/dining and living area. The solid oak kitchen is fully equipped and has an integrated fridge with built in oven and ceramic hob. The living room area has a feature wood burning stove which along with the solid French oak floorboards (throughout the whole property), just adds to the character and charm of this unique cottage.This spectacular room which has six large south facing windows, has some of the best sea views in the whole area. There are views across the Firth of Forth to Berwick Law, Bass Rock, Isle of May, and along the coast towards Crail. Truly wonderful!
