The Arches 30 Midland St, Tel: 2219736. In the railway arches under Central station. Presents more radical and experimental theatre. Also home to one of the city's major clubs (see 'Nightclubs' above).
Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA), 350 Sauchiehall St, Tel: 3327521. Hosts contemporary dance and theatre, as well as staging various art exhibitions.
Citizens' Theatre 119 Gorbals St, Tel: 4290022. Just across the river. Home to some of the UK's most exciting and innovative drama. Main auditorium and two smaller studios. Big discounts for students and the unemployed.
King's Theatre 294 Bath St, Tel: 2485153. The city's main traditional theatre presenting musicals, panto and that kind of thing.
Mitchell Theatre 3 Granville St, Tel: 2874855. At Charing Cross. Stages various drama productions as well as occasional jazz concerts.
Theatre Royal (see 'Concert Halls' above). Primarily a concert hall but also stages high-brow theatre, darling.
Tramway Theatre 25 Albert Drive, Tel: 4222023. Just off Pollockshaws Rd. Internationally-renowned venue with varied programme of innovative and influential theatre, dance, music and art exhibitions.
Tron Theatre 63 Trongate, Tel: 5524267. Major contemporary theatre productions. Also musical performances and big-name comedy acts. Home to a very fine bar and restaurant (see 'Eating').
