Aberdeen has plenty of accommodation but its hotels are relatively expensive. The best value are the B&Bs and guesthouses, many of which can be found on Bon Accord St and Crown St, both running south off Union St, and along Great Western Rd. The cheapest options are the youth hostel and university residences left vacant during summer vacation. There's also a campsite in the suburbs. The tourist office has a free guide and will book accommodation.

Good-value business hotel and therefore often full on weekdays, on a street full of similar hotels, but better than most, close to the action on Union St; its cellar bar does very good bar meals (see 'Bars').

Hostels and Campsites
Aberdeen Youth Hostel is at 8 Queen's Rd, Tel. 646988, a mile west of the bus and train stations (take buses 14 or 15 from the bus station). It's open all year till 0200 and has 116 beds. The nearest campsite is Hazelhead Caravan Park & Campsite on the A944, with a swimming pool nearby. Take buses 14 or 15 from town. Open Apr-Sep.
Campus accommodation is available at the University of Aberdeen Kings Hall (open all year) and Crombie Johnston Hall (open Mar-Apr and Jun-Sep), both well situated in Old Aberdeen.
