Air
There are domestic flights to and from London and several provincial airports, and to a few European destinations.
Boat
P&O ferries, Tel. 572615, have daily evening departures (Mon-Fri) to Lerwick on Shetland. The trip takes 14-20 hrs. From Jun-Aug there are departures on Tue and Sat to Stromness on Orkney; Sat only the rest of the year. See also under Orkney & Shetland.
Bus
Scottish Citylink runs direct buses to Dundee (2 hrs), Perth (2 1/2 hrs), Edinburgh (4 hrs), Stirling (3 1/2 hrs) and Glasgow (4 1/2 hrs). Bluebird Buses, Tel. 212266, is the major local bus operator. Service No 10 goes every hour to Inverness via Huntly and Elgin. Service No 201 goes every 30 mins (hourly on Sun) to Banchory, every hour (Mon-Sat; less frequently on Sun) to Ballatar and several times daily to Braemar. There are also buses to Stonehaven (Service No 103), Alford (Service No 220), Peterhead (No 263), Fraserburgh (Nos 267/268) and Ellon (Nos 290/291). Train
There are services to Edinburgh (2 1/2 hrs), Glasgow (2 3/4 hrs), Dundee (1 1/4 hrs), Perth (1 3/4 hrs), Stirling (2 1/4 hrs) and Inverness (2 1/4 hrs).
