Description Set in a scenic location at Lochranza, Isle of Arran Distillery is the newest single malt whisky distillery in Scotland, having only been in production since 1995 ? the first legal distillery on Arran for 150 years. The distillery uses water from Eason Biorach, a mountain burn; has traditional washbacks; specially commissioned stills; and has its own warehousing on site. The whisky is still quite young but has a well-rounded malty flavour. The visitor centre features interactive displays and a short film illustrating whisky production on Arran over the last 150 years; and a tour concludes with a free dram. An audio-visual room is located in the mock 18th-century crofter's inn.
