Balmoral Castle
The Balmoral Castle is located in the wonderful Royal Deeside, close to Ballater.
The castle is open to the public in certain times of the year when the Queen or a member of the Royal family are not staying there.
Queen Victoria bought Balmoral Castle back in 1848. The castle came with 50,000 acres of land, much of it made up of hills covered in heather and ancient woods.
As a tourist attraction the tourist board have graded it as 5 stars. In 2007 the grounds, gardens and exhibitions will be open on a daily basis from Sunday 1st April until Tuesday 31st July.
Opening times are from 10.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m., however please note that the last recommended admission is at 4.00 p.m.
