Comrie a small town situated in the heart of western Stratgearn in the district of Perth and Kinross in Scotland. This scenic town lies in the meeting point of Glen Lednock and Artney, with the confluence of the three rivers. Comrie was the scene of many minor earthquakes in the past as it lies on the highland boundary fault due these quakes it was also known as ‘Shaky Town’. It was the first place to have a seismometers established way back in 1840.
This beautiful town got its name from a Gaelic origin which means ‘the place where rivers meets’, the name was given by the Scots who invaded the place. Comrie was also the centre for weaving which most of the locals were doing. Comrie also hold some historic and famous buildings one of such building is the White Chruch, the former parish kirk, the main attraction is the tower and spire on the roadside of the historic churchyard in the heart of Comrie. Historian says that this was an early Christian site dedicated to Kessog an early saint in the 8th century.
