Aberdeen airport is 7 miles northwest of the city centre, at Dyce, off the A96 to Inverness. There are regular domestic flights to Scottish and UK destinations, including Orkney and Shetland, as well as international flights to several European destinations. For Aberdeen airport information, Tel. 722331. There's car hire and currency exchange at the airport. Buses 27 and 27A run at peak times to and from the city centre (35 mins, £1.35 single). For more information, Tel. 650065. Alternatively, take a train to Dyce station and a bus (Mon-Fri only) or taxi from there. A taxi from the airport to Dyce railway station costs around £5, and £10 to the city centre.

Aberdeen is linked to Lerwick in Shetland and Stromness in Orkney by P&O ferries, Tel. 572615. There are regular sailings from the passenger terminal in the harbour, a short walk east of the train and bus stations.

The bus terminal is next to the train station, on Guild St. National Express has daily buses from London and Scottish Citylink runs buses to all major Scottish towns. Bluebird, Tel. 212266, are the main regional operator. The train station is on Guild St. There are regular services from London, and major Scottish towns and cities.
