Sofi's, Henderson Street, Tel 5557019. Recently opened style bar with a Swedish ambience. Reasonably priced bar food. The Moose Sausage is very popular. Open Mon-Sat 1300-0100,Sun 1300-2400.
King's Wark, 36 The Shore. Tel: 5549260. One of the oldest pubs in Leith, dating back to the early 17th century and it appears not to have changed much. Real historical atmosphere and some damned fine food to boot. Open Mon-Thu 1200-2300, Fri/Sat till 2400, Sun 1100-2300.
The Pond, 2 Bath Rd, Tel: 4673825. A 5-min walk east of Commercial St. Very unusual decor to say the least. Open Mon-Thu 1600-0100, Fri-Sun 1400-0100.
Starbank Inn, 64 Laverockbank Rd, Newhaven. On the seafront between Newhaven and Leith. Nice old pub where you can enjoy a good pint of real ale and the views across the Forth. Also does bar food. Open Sun-Wed till 2300, Thu-Sat till 2400.
Noble's, 44a Constitution Street, Tel 554 2024. Nobel's is an old Victorian bar which has been refurbished into a comfy bar with opulent seating space and interiors. The impressive stained glass and a maritime frieze adds to its charm. Open Mon-Wed 1100-midnight, Thur-Sat 1100-0100, Sun 1100-0100. Food served Mon-Fri noon-1500.
