This area of Scotland is famous for many reasons, Rob Roy being just one of them. It lies between the more populous central belt and the main cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. To the west is the famous Loch Lomond, to the North West, the Trossachs which are a highlands in miniature and much filmed. Stirling is famous for its castle and the site of Bannockburn.
