Carradale

Carradale is a small fishing village on the east coast of Kintyre and on the west coast of Isle of Arran. This picturesque village is just 14 miles from Campbeltown in Scotland. It is the ideal place for exploring the beauties of Kintyre and its adjoining islands. The village was the centre of fishing between the 17th and 18th century, with small communities of crofters and fishermen working in this region. With a population of about four hundred it turns out to be the largest village on the peninsula.

If we look to its vast history we can find that Carradale was a centre for steamers with the introduction of steam ships, steamers used to operate from Campbeltown to Glasgow, through Carradale. This beautiful settlement boasts large shops located at the junction with the B842, if we move south lies Port Righ. Another attraction is the Carradale Harbour which has a charming look. This harbour lies in the bottom of a steep road winding east from the village centre.

This peaceful village is ideal for spending a relaxing and hassle free holiday, with great sceneries and stunning views. There are few fun activities you can indulge yourself in starting from fishing, golfing and walking down the village exploring the charms of the place more closely.
