Description  :In a picturesque setting overlooking Scapa Flow, the Scapa distillery was established in 1885 by Macfarlane and Townsend. It was acquired by Hiram Walker in 1954, and is now operated by Allied Distillers Ltd, but was mothballed in 1994. It uses water from the Lingro Burn and nearby springs, and has two stills. The whisky produced here is used in Ballantine's blended Scotch Whisky, but there is also the Scapa Single Highland Malt, which is a clean, medium-bodied, firm whisky. Tours can be made of the distillery by arrangement only.
