Old Hanoverian Barracks built in 1723 to house troops after the 1715 rebellion
The old barracks beside the Loch shore remind us of the once strategic importance of Glenelg before the road to skye at Kyle of Lochalsh was built. The Barracks structure is remarkably complete but it is not safe so sadly visitors can walk around the outside but not within.
