The quieter more scenic route from Dumfries to Dalbeattie
The coastal route from Dumfries to Dalbeattie heads south from Dumfries through an area popular with bird-watchers and cyclists. It passes through some small quaint villages and towards some hidden gems such as Rockcliffe and Kippford, and there are lovely sandy beaches at Southerness and Sandyhills.
