5 Star Edinburgh Hotels

Channings

A charming traditional townhouse hotel in a quieter part of Edinburgh. Excellent restaurant. Highly recommended.

Hotel Missoni

A stunning stylish, chic contemporary hotel in the centre of Edinburgh,  great funky Italian bathrooms and plenty of amenities. However can be rather pricey - check out deals on Laterooms for best bargains. Great location in the centre of the action.

No 11 Brunswick Street, Edinburgh

A gem of a luxury boutique hotel in a Georgian townhouse, close to Edinburgh Playhouse. Masses of kerb appeal and doesn't disappoint once you're inside. Recommended.

Prestonfield Hotel Edinburgh

Historic and very lush 5 star hotel on the edge of Edinburgh. Highly romantic and velveted. Beautiful fabrics, lovely food. A pulling joint if ever there was one!

Royal Mile Residence

Superbly equipped apartments on the Royal Mile with use of the Scotsmans Escape Health Club facilities just along the road.

The Balmoral A Rocco Forte Hotel

Possibly the most prestigious address in Edinburgh. Once a somewhat boring railway hotel, now an acclaimed 5 star hotel in the very epicentre of the city. Lowest priced rooms are a little dark, otherwise beautiful.

The Caledonian, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel

Sean Connery's favourite hotel when he stays in Edinburgh..

The Glasshouse Edinburghs Boutique Hotel

Wonderful location on the roof with rooms facing out onto Calton Hill. Private and modern but in the centre of town. Snap it up if the rate is good.

The Howard Hotel Edinburgh

Traditional five star in the New Town with a somewhat staid quality but very traditional and also popular with international visitors. The way hotels used to be!

The Knight Residence Hotel Edinburgh

High class apartments with private parking in the centre of Edinburgh.

The Number 10 Hotel

Luxury boutique townhouse hotel in Edinburgh's new town. Highly recommended.

The Scotsman Edinburgh

The Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh provokes wildly differing responses from its guests: those who love it and its staff and those who find is tired and lacklustre. For some the Scotsman is the highlight of their trip with particular praise for the concierge who is all knowing about whats on in town. The Scotsman's central location makes it perfect for visitors who plan to browse through Edinburgh.

Witchery by The Castle

Ownerd by the people who have the Prestonfield Hotel. A wonderfully dramatic and  luxurious hotel. Not many rooms but well worth getting one if you can.
