Balquhidder is a small village in the Trossachs, most famous perhaps for Rob Roy's grave with its defiant epitaph "Despite Them" but well worth a visit for the other graves and the 8th century St Angus' Stone in the church.

Lonely Planet recommends the Rob Roy Bar at the Kings House Hotel for the excellent Guinness and rollmop and smoked trout platter. There is excellent walking nearby on Stob Binnein with its unusual shape.
