Fort Augustus Hotels
Fort Augustus in the Highlands, is at the western end of Loch Ness and near Ben Nevis and Fort William.
Fort Augustus was named after George II's son the chubby lad who later became the "Butcher" Duke of Cumberland of Culloden fame. Today it is dominated by the comings and going on the Caledonian Canal.
Other places of interest is the Benedictine Abbey founded on the site of the original fort. Also look forward to some great cycling along the Great Glen Cycle Route.
