Edinburgh Princes Street is the long wide thoroughfare that runs from Calton Hill to the Caledonian Hotel by way of Waverley Station, The Scottish Royal Academy and terrific view of Edinburgh Castle. The city planners have always had it in for Princes Street and have allowed developers to commit every architectural faux pas in the book but they have now realised that Princes Street needs a more concerted plan to make it less windswept and more charming. No traffic and some super expensive trams may well do the trick.
