Kirriemuir or Kirrie as its called fondly is the birthplace of JM Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan, and his love for the place is evident from his series of books based on his home town about a village called "Thrums".

The streets of Kirriemuir are like out of an old movie and there's a wee statue of Peter Pan in the town centre.
