Lanark is a neat little market town, and is a distinguished burgh, located on the purple hills high above the River Clyde. The town's rooftops and spires are visible, miles around. In Lanark, you'll see the world's oldest bell - cast in 1130 and on show in the Georgian church of St. Nocholas. And not much to see around unless you're here in early June for the lively Lanimer celebrations.
