The old rural village of Lawers lies at the foot of Ben Lawers, on the banks of Loch Tay. Killin and Kenmore lie near by. Today, the ruins of the old village of Lawers can be seen along with the old church of Lawers.

The village sparks interest when compared to the rest of the abandoned villages around the Scottish HIghlands for  its stories of mystery and is also one which attracts people with genuine historical interest. Visitors can access the ruins by a track which begins just east of the Lawers Hotel. (Note: While visiting wear sturdy footwear as the village is quite rough underfoot).

The ruins here are divided into The barns and cemetry; the House of Lawers, the Church and associated buildings and the village dwellings and mill.

The much fabled Lady of Lawers spent many of her years here and is buried in the old village ruins.
