North Middleton is a small village in Midlothian, southeast of Gorebridge and a half-mile southwest of Borthwick. The early 18th Century Middleton Hall lies to the southeast and Arniston House lies 2 miles to the west.

Borthwick Castle, a 600 year old Scottish Castle with a tower house is now a hotel and is a great way to enjoy a medieval castle.
