The Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh provokes wildly differing responses from its guests: those who love it and its staff and those who find is tired and lacklustre. For some the Scotsman is the highlight of their trip with particular praise for the concierge who is all knowing about whats on in town. On the downside, some guests complain of noise from Waverley Station and the 06:50 train announcements as well as hot rooms with dodgy thermostats. Parts of the Scotsman could do with a bit of a makeover.
