In a beautiful countryside location just 17 miles from Edinburgh, Barony Castle is a great choice for a break in Scotland. Very friendly staff , great value for money, delicous food. Despite grand proportions, the Grade A-listed Georgian Boath House Hotel has a very friendly and cosy feel to it. It seems the fires are always lit and all the warmly decorated rooms have views over the hotel's 20-acres of  garden. Bedroom No 3 has a canopy bed and a pair of free-standing roll-top baths for a truly romantic and hopefully passionate night.

Food is equally excellent with Michelin-starred chef Charlie Lockley cooking up a storm with organic, seasonal ingredients, many of them home-grown. Definately recommended.
