Torridon village is great for walks and not so-easy trekking and so is a sought-after place by the adventurous. The undulating seven-mile hike up the coast from Lower Diabaig, ten miles northwest of Torridon to Redpoint is rewarding even in bad weather.
Loch Torridon marks the northern boundary of the Applecross peninsula with the rugged mountains of Liathac and Beinn Eighe - 750 million years old Torridonian sandstone tipped by streaks of white quartzite.
