Clachan Hotels

Our selection of hotels in Clachan in Scottish Highlands.

Clachan is home to the Raasay House.  The original house was torched by troops along with the Island's houses and boats as a punishment for the Macleods who gave refuge to Bonnie Prince Charlie. Towards the latter half of the 19th century, Clearances here began in earnest. The island's most famous son, the renowned poet Sorley Maclean, has even written about this lost society very passionately in his poems.
