Moorpark House has, over the past 4 years, undergone a multi million pound refurbishment and conversion transforming the property into a grand yet welcoming country house hotel. It has an imposing entrance hall, 12 luxurious bedrooms, a main dining room with adjacent conservatory, two additional dining rooms, an elegant drawing room with ceiling hand painted by Italian craftsmen in the 1890’s and a relaxing bar created by extensive use of mouldings reproduced from originals within the house. Facilities; Croquet – The croquet lawn flanks the west side of the house. For those that don’t know it is much more than a game of knocking balls through hoops. Try it for yourself. If required a professional coach can be arranged at short notice Golf - Ayrshire has the greatest concentration of golf courses anywhere in Scotland many of international renown. The hotel will be happy to arrange green reservations and transport Fishing – Quality venues too numerous to mention. Salmon, trout and coarse. The hotel has an arrangement with one of Kilbirnie’s colourful characters who, if required, can arrange the day’s outing and act as ghillie/tutor. Clay pigeon shooting – one of the UK’s top venues is but a short drive from the hotel. Horse riding – The Kelburn Estate – again a short drive from the hotel – offers both horse riding and tuition. Yachting – The waters and islands of the West Coast of Scotland offer the best and most picturesque sailing conditions in the world. The hotel is able to arrange either a bare boat or skippered charter Bar billiards – the hotel’s bar has a table which guests are free to enjoy.
