Stanley sits on the right bank of the River Tay
in Perthshire, around six miles north of Perth
. At the tip of the peninsula formed by the river, visitors can spot the ruins of the Inverbervie Castle.
Stanley was laid out in the shape of the letter “A”, one leg formed by the Perth
Road and the other by the Mill Road. The legs are connected to one another by a sequence of parallel streets, the most notable among them being the Store Street or the Percy Street.
